NATATORIUM & RENOVATION
at GRAMBLING STATE UNIVERSITY INTRAMURAL CENTER
With the growing campus needing additional resources, Architecture+ was chosen to rework and design new portions of Grambling State University's Intramural Center to better suit its students.
Originally built in 1992, the pre-renovated Intramural Center was primarily a one story, pre-engineered metal building consisting of three basketball courts, two racquetball courts, locker and shower rooms, administrative offices, and a running track and weight room on a mezzanine level. All this program together comprised a building of approximately 31,900 square feet. The renovated Intramural Center not only features improvements to all these spaces, but the addition of two new entrances, a natatorium, and a health center, as well as an expansion of the current mezzanine-level track.
